Residency at Ting Shuo Hear Say 聽說

In January 2026 I undertook a residency at Ting Shuo Hear Say 聽說, a sound art residency in Tainan, Taiwan. I worked with local musicians including Fang Yi Liu, Nigel Brown and Chen En He, built a DIY reverb chamber, and explored my aeolian music techniques with guzheng. Connected to my ongoing interest in the stories of the Batavia shipwreck off the coast of Geraldton on Yamatji Country, the shared story of Dutch colonisation of Taiwan became a topic of research, and the powerful coastal winds in both places another point of connection.
